He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in Biology from the University of Georgia Honors Program in 1981. He received his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in 1985. He completed a transitional residency at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee in 1986 and a diagnostic radiology residency at the St. Louis University Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri in 1990. He was certified in diagnostic radiology by the American Board of Radiology in 1990. Dr. Caplan holds medical licenses in Georgia and Tennessee. He is a member of the American College of Radiology, the Radiological Society of North America and other national and local medical societies.
