He graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. degree in English in 1995 from Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas and earned his medical degree from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in 2000. He completed his internship at Methodist Healthcare Memphis in 2001 and his residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2005. He was board certified by the American Board of Radiology in 2005.
